English Language Teaching in the Global Classroom

"The ORU College of Education is constantly working to make sure students receive the highest quality education possible. The English Language Teaching in the Global Classroom program enhances the professional opportunities available to our students upon graduation and allows them to develop necessary teaching skills that can be used both at home and abroad."

— Dr. Kim Boyd, Dean of the College of Education

The College of Education at ORU is committed to providing opportunities for individuals responding to the call of God to become "transformed" professional Christian educators. The undergraduate education program offers preparation for professional, public and private responsibilities in the field of education throughout the world.

Around the globe, there is a high demand for skillfully trained English language instructors. The Bachelors of Art degree in English Language Teaching in the Global Classroom is for those who are called to go to other countries to teach English and those from other countries who want to return to their country to teach English. The program offers a combination of reading, English and English language learning (ELL) courses to ensure candidates acquire the content knowledge, pedagogical skills and dispositions needed to assist students in acquiring English language proficiency.
