Music, in all its forms, is woven deeply into the fabric of spiritual life on the ORU campus. If you are interested in studying any aspect of music - from composition to performance - and you desire a Christian education that focuses on development of the whole person, you won't find a better place to study than ORU.

A few of the key advantages of our programs include:

  • We have begun the Steinway Initiative toward becoming an All Steinway Music School - the first in Tulsa.

  • If you are a piano major, you'll have access to five grand pianos for daily practice as well as weekly opportunities to play Steinway grand pianos during applied lessons
    and student recitals.

  • You'll get many opportunities to perform through guitar ensemble, jazz combo, campus musicals and worship services.

  • If you are a guitarist or vocalist, you'll study privately with a seasoned musical professional. Vocal instructors are highly acclaimed active performers.

  • If you are a music education major, you'll get opportunities to observe and teach within the public and Christian schools prior to your student teaching experience.

  • Our sacred music major integrates both traditional and modern worship practices.

  • You'll learn to use the latest developments in music technology under the guidance of experienced studio and lab practitioners.

  • The ORU vocal program is accredited by National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

  • You'll get lots of exposure to strong arts programs such as Tulsa Symphony, Tulsa Ballet and Opera as well as the opportunity to learn from visiting artists.
