Dale Wilkerson had a nearly thirty-year financial accounting career, primarily with energy-related companies. Dale joined MAPCO Inc. in 1986 as the Controller of MAPCO Coal, Inc., MAPCO's coal business. Alliance Coal (MAPCO Coal's successor) produces and markets coal from nine major mining complexes in the eastern United States. Dale's responsibilities included the accounting function of Alliance Coal, preparation of monthly commentaries that analyze operating profit results, operating budget review, litigation support, and tax planning.

In 1996, Alliance Coal was sold to a private equity fund. From 1996 to 2006, Dale was the Vice President and Controller of Alliance Resource Holdings, Inc., where he was responsible for financial and tax accounting, including those associated with the initial public offerings of Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. and Alliance Holdings G.P., L.P. in 1999 and 2006, respectively. Since 2006, Dale has provided consulting services on an as-requested basis to Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. Before joining MAPCO in 1986, Dale spent seven years at Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte and Touche), where as an auditor and later, audit manager, his assignments involved energy-related enterprises whose activities included oil and gas exploration and production, oil field supply, refining, coal mining, NGL (natural gas liquids) pipeline distribution, and retail gasoline marketing.

Dale graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1979, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He resides in Tulsa and is a third-generation member of Carbondale Assembly of God.
