Luper Earns Record 13th Player of the Week Award

Kevi LuperELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts University junior guard Kevi Luper was named Summit League Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week, it was announced today. The weekly award is the 13th of Luper’s illustrious career, which sets a new Summit League record.

Luper shares this week's award with IPFW's Stephanie Rosado.

The Adair native has won at least a share of the Summit Player of the Week honor in three of the season's first four weeks. With her 13th weekly honor, Luper passes former ORU standout Elisha Turek (2003-07) for the most in Summit history.

Luper averaged 31.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game last week, leading ORU to a 1-1 record. On Nov. 29 against Tulsa, Luper scored 32 points in a 65-57 loss. Saturday against Southern Utah, the junior led ORU to a 109-59 triumph with a 31-point performance.

For the season, Luper averages 26.9 points and 4.5 steals per game. She ranks second in the nation in scoring a 3rd in steals after leading Division I basketball in both categories last season.

The Golden Eagles (6-2, 1-0 Summit League) face Arkansas on Saturday night. Tip-off in Fayetteville is scheduled for 7 pm CT.
